Sending Youth to War
This project is a narrative-html web comic book. It was inspired by the stories I've haerd about the war of Iran-Iraq and also the comic book Persepolis. Everyday I learn more about the on-going wars and violence in the middle east. One day as I was watching a documentary on the war in Wazirestan, in Afghanistan, I got inspired to tell the sotry of my father who joined the Irn-Iraq war at seventeen. These young adults undergo an immense trauma, and witness murder, violence and loss. My goal is not only raise an awarness by telling my dad's story, but also to thank him for his bravery and his courage.

Sending Youth to War website
To keep the theme of a comic book, I decided to illustrate images and also incorporate some old images. I first sketched my illustrations on paper, and after modifing them, I took them on Adobe Illustrator to create the final format. I also tried to use some subtle animations, such as breathing. To create these movements I used Figma to save my illustrations as an SVG, then take the SVG file and with the help of HTML and CSS create my desired effects.
On the last page of these website, I have gattered some resources and linked to help the sountries in war for those who can financially afford it. This website is a work in progress, as I am collaborating with a friend and we are working on adding music and more animation to create a better ambience for the website.
